Laura “Lady Ram” Ramsey is a fighter defined by resilience, purpose, and the power of transformation—inside and outside the ring.
Born in Lake Wales, Florida, Laura’s journey has been shaped by both adversity and determination. Becoming a mother at just 16, she faced life’s challenges early, finding strength and direction through athletics. From basketball and softball in her youth to excelling in multiple sports throughout school, her competitive spirit was evident long before she discovered boxing.
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management and building a professional career, Laura found her true calling in 1996 when she stepped into the boxing ring. Training at the Winter Haven Police Athletic League, she embraced the sport with discipline and focus, pushing through early setbacks to develop her craft.
In 2001, Laura founded the Lake Wales Boxing Team, using her passion to mentor and guide local youth, instilling in them the same discipline and purpose that boxing gave her. She officially entered the competitive boxing world in 2002, winning her first amateur bout in 2003 and quickly rising through the ranks with regional and national titles.
Encouraged by former world champion Bonnie Canino, Laura turned professional at 35 an uncommon path that only strengthened her resolve. Making an immediate impact with a debut victory in 2004, she went on to compete internationally, facing top-tier opponents and establishing herself as a formidable presence in the super middleweight division.
